Footprint Cold Chisel and Punch Set
Footprint Chisel an punch sets are put together to for a useful combination for the mechanic, engineer or handyman. Each set is complete with a strong steel bench stand with eyelets for wall hanging if preferred.
Cold Chisels are used for cutting metal. Maintain the cutting edge with frequent sharpening - it is advisable to use an oil stone. Uses include cutting round stock, removing rivets, bolts and cutting all forms of metal.
Taper Punches are used to cut small holes in thin gauge sheet metal. The metal to be cut should be backed by a thick piece of wood - end grain is advise. This punch is also used as a 'starting' punch when removing a pin from an assembly; once freed continue with parallel pin punch.
Parallel Pin Punches are used to remove pins from an assembly. Match the size of the punch as near as possible to the pin. Do not use too much force until the pin starts to move or use a tape punch for 'starting'.
Centre Punches are used to mark hole centres or to enlarge small marks to guide the point of a drill.
Cross Cut Chisels are used to make narrow cuts or grooves in metal.
